An astonishing album... a nu soul master that should ride high on any 21st century 'best of' lists. [Dec 2003, p.109]

Most of this succeeds. [19 Sep 2003, p.86]
  3. Although sometimes her reliance on mood threatens to get the better of Worldwide Underground, Badu remains faithful to the old school of flow, a blend of drums and rhythm designed to service soul's best instruments: its vocalists.
  4. As easy as the disc is to slide into, it's far and away the least commercial R&B release of the year.

    Frequently intoxicating. [Jan 2004, p.103]
  6. Badu keeps the proceedings here buoyant and relaxed with that supple-lipped scat of hers, stretching out scant syllables at her lounging, loopy leisure.
  7. Erykah Badu still hasn't found her way through the haze.

Awesome!! There are just 8 tracks on this cd but you hardly notice due to the lenght of the songs, as well as the twists and turns they take Awesome!! There are just 8 tracks on this cd but you hardly notice due to the lenght of the songs, as well as the twists and turns they take (point in case, 'I want you' with it's rock guitar finale). Standouts include 'Iwant you', 'Back in the day', 'Love of my life worldwide', 'Bump it', 'The grind', 'Danger', 'Woo', 'Think twice'.. that's the whole cd! Might not be a very commercial cd, but very very good! Collapse

I don't care what anyone says. You shouldn't judge a CD by the review. Listen to it for yourself and let your own mind decide! The I don't care what anyone says. You shouldn't judge a CD by the review. Listen to it for yourself and let your own mind decide! The CD is the bomb Expand

This is a fruity confection which has a positive summery groove. A little indulgent perhaps but so few other artists could pull this off - This is a fruity confection which has a positive summery groove.
