You Can Do Better is a perfect execution of a well thought out plan.
  2. Mar 7, 2014
This is easily as good JoFo’s debut.
  3. Mar 7, 2014
Each of the ten (plus one bonus) tracks has earned their place here and sits on the tracklisting proudly as such, leaving none of the excess that sometimes plagued their earlier releases.

You Can Do Better is still the JoFo you might know and love, and for anyone coming to it fresh it actually provides a fantastic gate-way album, with fairly obvious retro sensibilities but an energy, enthusiasm and self-confidence that keeps it feeling relevant and modern.

Johnny Foreigner are, thankfully, still showing no desire to slow down.
  6. Mar 12, 2014
This is a filler-free exercise that sees the band appealing to their purists and pushing their output forward at the same time.

Many of the songs on this fourth LP begin promisingly enough, but some lose their way when frontman Alexei Barrow and bassist Kelly Southern pitch in with mildly hysterical vocals, the clashing combination descending into a shouty mess. [May 2014, p.113]

It’s business as usual with the release of their spaghetti-mess fourth.
