Jamie Foxx in 'Day Shift'
NetflixGet ready for the adrenaline-pumping Day Shift, which premieres Aug. 12 on Netflix, with this behind-the-scenes look at its high-octane stunts.
Actor Jamie Foxx introduces the stunts in a new featurette the streamer shared as part of its annual Geeked Week celebration. In the film, Foxx plays a blue-collar father who is just trying to provide a good life for his daughter. If only things were so simple and easy! In truth, his seemingly simple job cleaning pools in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California is really just a front. His real source of income is hunting and killing vampires!
That's right, his character is part of an international union of vampire hunters, which means there is A LOT of combat to come.
"I'm getting money for fangs," Foxx says in the video, which you can watch below.
The film also stars Snoop Dogg, Dave Franco, Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, Scott Adkins, and Zion Broadnax. It is directed by J.J. Perry and written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten. Shaun Redick, Yvette Yates, Chad Stahelski, and Jason Spitz serve as producers.
"J.J.'s taken some vampire mythology and put it in crazy situations of gun fights and car chases and motorcycle chases," Stahelski says.
Clips of all of the above are included in the behind-the-scenes featurette, which also features some twisty physical contortion from stunt performers playing vampires. After all, when you're supernatural, you have equally surreal abilities, which should cause quite the reaction from characters and audience members alike.
