Watch a new trailer for 'DC League of Super-Pets' ahead of its July 29 release.
'DC League of Super-Pets'
Warner Bros. Some say you train a dog in your own image so he or she adapts well to your lifestyle, and that proves to be the case in DC League of Super-Pets, as you can see in a new trailer, below.
The new trailer begins with Krypto the Superdog (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) jealous of how much time Superman (voiced by John Krasinski) is spending with the woman in his life, and he imagines throwing her in the ocean, miles away. Naturally, he doesn't actually do it, and soon enough he has to save Superman for real: The Justice League members get kidnapped.
Krypto follows in Superman's footsteps by becoming a hero himself: He forms the titular league of super-pets to save DC Comics' most iconic heroes — even though he doesn't particularly like other animals. Alongside him are Ace the hound (Kevin Hart), PB the pot bellied pig (Vanessa Bayer), Merton the turtle (Natasha Lyonne), and Chip the squirrel (Diego Luna). They all find they have superpowers, just like their superhuman "owners."
"You know what they say about dogs, don't you?" Ace asks Krypto when he's worried about Superman. "We love unconditionally."
"We're just a bunch of shelter pets, but we're stronger than you think," he continues.
The film is directed by Jared Stern from a script from Stern and John Whittington. Kate McKinnon, Marc Maron, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves also star. John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Nicholas Stoller, Allison Abbate, Chris Leahy, Sharon Taylor, and Courtenay Valenti serve as executive producers.
DC League of Super-Pets will be released July 27 internationally and July 29 in the U.S. by Warner Bros.
