If you have yet to have your fill of cop dramas, CBS' East New York may be for you.

East New York, as you can see from a trailer below, centers on Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood (Amanda Warren), who has been recently promoted to boss of the 74th Precinct in New York City.

"I've been a street cop most of my career and like you, I've had ideas [about] what should be done better. Now I get to see if some ideas might actually work," Regina says in the trailer.

One of these ideas is having the members of her force live near where they work so they can better understand the people in the area and the unique needs they have. Her ideas are considered out of the box for NYPD standards, which takes some getting used to for a number of those she is now working with.

Her team includes her mentor Chief John Suarez (Jimmy Smits), the highly respected training officer Marvin Sandeford (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), old-school detective Tommy Killian (Kevin Rankin), her new right hand Captain Stan Yenko (Richard Kind), Detective Crystal Morales (Elizabeth Rodriguez), trainee Andre Bentley (Lavel Schley), and patrol officer Brandy Quinlan (Olivia Luccardi). Spoiler alert: as you can see from the trailer, Brandy is the only one to volunteer to live in East New York, as Regina requests.

William Finkelstein, Mike Flynn, Michael M. Robin, Christine Holder, and Mark Holder serve executive producers, with Andrew Maher as co-executive producer. Robin also directed the pilot from a script by Finkelstein and Flynn. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

East New York will air Sundays at 9 p.m. on CBS. The exact premiere date is still to be announced.
