Michelle Monaghan opposite herself in 'Echoes'
NetflixDon't adjust your screen settings; you are not seeing double. Michelle Monaghan stars opposite herself in Netflix's upcoming limited series Echoes, a twisty mystery about identical twins that launches Aug. 19. Now you can get your first look at what to expect from that mystery via a trailer.
In the trailer, which you can watch below, you'll see Monaghan as both twins, Leni and Gina, in their adulthood. But from the start, things are ominous. Though they are celebrating what should be a happy occasion (their birthday), their closeness is a bit extra. And it turns out, they have been sharing a secret since they were young, when they started swapping lives. This has led to them both living a double life as adults, sharing homes, husbands, and a child. They thought they had it under control, but when Leni goes missing, Gina loses control. It doesn't help that it looks like Leni might have met a violent end.
But is it really Leni who went missing?
The show will flip back and forth between the present-day mystery of Leni's disappearance and flashbacks to their younger years to show just how deeply intwined their lives have become and how it all led to only one of the twins being left standing.
Echoes salso stars Matt Bomer, Daniel Sunjata, Ali Stroker, Karen Robinson, Rosanny Zayas, Michael O'Neill, Celia Weston, Gable Swanlund, Tyner Rushing, Hazel Mason, Ginger Mason, Alise Willis, and Maddie Nichols.
Brian Yorkey and Quinton Peeples serve as showrunners on the seven-episode dramatic limited series, executive producing alongside creator Vanessa Gazy and Imogen Banks. The show is produced by Endemol Shine Banks Australia.
