The Father of the Bride reimagining will hit HBO Max on June 16 and you can get in on the wedding planning via a new trailer, below.

Based on the 1949 novel by Edward Streeter, the new film sees Sofia (Adria Arjona) surprise her parents (Billy, played by Andy Garcia, and Ingrid, played by Gloria Estefan) by bringing a fiancé (Adan, played by Diego Boneta) home to Miami with her. And — surprise again! — they want a quick-turnaround wedding before they plan to move to Mexico.

Unfortunately, this puts a wrinkle in the parents' plan of announcing they are separating after decades of marriage. After agreeing to delay the news to keep their daughter happy and stress-free, they have to pretend to be a still-happily-married couple while helping Sofia plan the wedding that her father is, at first, opposed to.

What follows is a game of one-upmanship between Billy and Adan's father Hernan (Pedro Damián) that also features a culture clash and competing traditions.

"You proposed to him?" Billy asks his daughter in the trailer. "He didn't propose to you? Can you do that? Does anyone to that?"

The romantic comedy also stars Isabela Merced and Chloe Fineman. It is directed by Gaz Alazraki, written by Matt Lopez, and produced by Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Paul Michael Perez. Brad Pitt, Garcia, Ted Gidlow, and Jesse Ehrman serve as executive producers. The film is a Plan B Entertainment production, presented by Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max.
