'God's Favorite Idiot'

Netflix

After Amily (Melissa McCarthy) experiences a bout of divine intervention in God's Favorite Idiot, she tells her coworkers about it. But given the nature of the world, and of her personal life, they are skeptical. And they're not the only ones. See what her encounter with a "glower" means in a trailer for the upcoming Netflix comedy, below.

The "glower" in question is Clark (Ben Falcone), who is a cat-loving, mid-level tech support employee who pines after Amily, with whom he works. After getting struck by lightning, he goes to dinner with Amily, who sees an aura around him, and suddenly it appears God has bigger plans for him. (Luckily she is not the only one who witnesses this because she may not be a reliable witness for reasons you will hear about in the trailer.)

But he can't save humanity by himself, so he tries to rally some troops around him, including Amily, to outwit Satan (Leslie Bibb).

They also end up having to take on some regular ole human protestors who march, chant, carry signs, and throw items through Clark's windows. And then there are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, or, in a modern twist, the Four Horsepeople.

God's Favorite Idiot also stars Kevin Dunn, Usman Ally, Steve Mallory, Chris Sandiford, Ana Scotney, and Yanic Truesdale. It comes from Falcone and McCarthy, who executive produce via their production company On The Day, while Michael McDonald directs. The show launches its eight-episode season on June 15.
