Guillermo del Toro Goes Behind the Scenes of 'Cabinet of Curiosities'; Reveals Premiere Date, Episode Titles

You may not be able to believe it, but Halloween is once again right around the corner, and with it will come Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. Netflix announced the eight-episode anthology series will debut with the first two episodes on Oct. 25 and then, unlike the streamer's usual binge model, it will drop two new episodes every day up to and including Oct. 28. 

Each episode is a unique tale with a different cast and director. Although del Toro acted as a curator for these stories, he wanted the directors to be able to share their visions. You can see some of that come to life in a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the show, below.

"With Cabinet of Curiosities, we set out to showcase the realities existing outside of our normal world: the anomalies and curiosities. We hand-picked and curated a group of stories and storytellers to deliver these tales, whether they come from outer space, supernatural lore, or simply within our minds," del Toro said in a statement. "Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight tales is a fantastical peek inside the cabinet of delights existing underneath the reality we live in."

Cabinet of Curiosities is created by del Toro, who also hosts the series and co-showruns with J. Miles Davis. Gary Ungar also executive produces, and Regina Corrado serves as co-executive producer. 

Read on for the individual episode credits, in alphabetical (not necessary streaming) order; no confirmation has come from Netflix yet on which episodes will drop on which days.

"Dreams in the Witch House"

Rupert Grint, Ismael Cruz Córdova, DJ Qualls, Nia Vardalos, and Tenika Davis star; Mika Watkins wrote the episode based on a short story by H.P. Lovecraft; Catherine Hardwicke directs.

"Graveyard Rats"

David Hewlett stars, while Vincenzo Natali writes and directs this episode based on a short story by Henry Kuttner.

"Lot 36"

Tim Blake Nelson, Elpidia Carrillo, Demetrius Grosse, and Sebastian Roché star; Regina Corrado wrote the script based on an original story by del Toro); Guillermo Navarro directs.

"Pickman's Model"

Ben Barnes, Crispin Glover, and Oriana Leman star; Lee Patterson wrote the script based on a short story by Lovecraft; Keith Thomas directs.

"The Autopsy"

F. Murray Abraham, Glynn Turman, and Luke Roberts star; David S. Goyer wrote the episode based on a short story by Michael Shea; David Prior directs.

"The Murmuring"

Essie Davis, Andrew Lincoln, and Hannah Galway star, while Jennifer Kent writes and directs based on an original story by del Toro.

"The Outside"

Kate Micucci and Martin Starr star; Haley Z. Boston wrote the script based on a short story by Emily Carroll; Ana Lily Amirpour directs.

"The Viewing"

Peter Weller, Eric André, Sofia Boutella, Charlyne Yi, Steve Agee, Michael Therriault, and Saad Siddiqui star, while Panos Cosmatos writes and directs, and Aaron Stewart-Ahn also writes.
