Inspired by co-creator and star Vanessa Bayer's own life, I Love That For You is a new comedy premiering April 28 on Showtime's streaming platform and then making its linear network debut on May 1 at 8:30 p.m. Get a glimpse at what the former Saturday Night Live cast member has cooked up in a new trailer below.

I Love That for You follows Bayer's character, Joanna Gold, who dreams of becoming a host on a home shopping channel. She survived cancer when she was younger and has become known as "that cancer girl" among her family and hometown friends, so, with the hope of finally losing that label, she moves away from her parents and takes a job at a home shopping network. There, she strikes up a friendship with her idol (and the network's biggest host) Jackie (Molly Shannon).

However, it's the world of television and sales, so it's anything but all hugs and roses.

Although Bayer never became the host of a real-life shopping network, she did overcome leukemia as a child, which is where the story pulls from her experiences.

I Love That for You also stars Jenifer Lewis as Patricia, the founder and CEO of the network; Paul James as Jordan, a charming but dry stage manager; Ayden Mayeri as Beth Ann, an ambitious but insecure host who has probably been stuck in Jackie's shadow; Matt Rogers as Darcy, Patricia's right-hand man; and Punam Patel as Beena, a producer at the network. Johnno Wilson guest stars as Perry, another beloved host on the network.

Bayer co-created and executive produces I Love That for You with Jeremy Beiler. Jessi Klein, who serves as showrunner; Michael Showalter; Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle of Annapurna; Jordana Mollick of Semi-Formal; and Allyce Ozarski also serve as executive producers.
