Courtesy of YouTubeThe studios behind Luck don't want you to be alarmed by the sight of a black cat as a protagonist in their upcoming animated film, so they are leading with him the trailer, which you can watch below.
Simon Pegg voices Bob, a black cat who works with Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada), the so-called "unluckiest person in the world" to journey through a new land. This land is called Land of Luck and has never before been seen but serves as the location for her quest to bring home some good luck.
The trailer follows Bob through a "good luck department" and a "bad luck department" to show off the hard-workers who help humans have positive and negative feelings around events that happen to them.
"You humans are a complicated lot, and that's why things run so smoothly here," Bob says.
Unfortunately, humans are not supposed to visit there, which sends things crashing down in the trailer when Sam unexpectedly steps inside. This also results in her teaming up with an animal (and other magical creatures) in order to complete her mission.
The film is directed by Peggy Holmes from a screenplay from Kiel Murray. It also stars Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O'Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, and Adelynn Spoon. The film is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and David Eisenmann, and it hails from Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation.
Luck will premiere Aug. 5 on Apple TV+.
