Humans have colonized the moon in AMC+'s Moonhaven, which premieres June 30 on the streamer, and that doesn't happen without conspiracy abounding.
"We're coming, we're coming," a young woman sings ominously in a 15-second teaser for the new futuristic thriller, which you can watch below.
Moonhaven comes from creator and showrunner Peter Ocko and centers on a 500-square mile so-called utopian society on the moon that may have the answers to how to save life on Earth, which has become increasingly complicated. But being that this series is described as a thriller, who's to say they will help the rest of humanity that has been left behind on its original planet?
Bella Sway (Emma McDonald) is a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler who finds herself accused of a crime and sent to Moonhaven. While that colony is supposed to find the solutions to the problems poised to wipe out civilization on Earth, Bella is skeptical and gets sucked into a conspiracy to control the artificial intelligence that is responsible for all of what Moonhaven has been able to accomplish. She then teams with a local detective to stop those that want to destroy the hope for Earth, but of course that puts them in grave danger.
The six-episode series also stars Dominic Monaghan, Amara Karan, Ayelet Zurer, Kadeem Hardison, and Yazzmin Newell. Hailing from AMC Studios, the show is executive produced by Ocko and Deb Spera.
