'Nope'
Courtesy of Universal Pictures / YouTubeThere is something out there, above the clouds, and it might have killed Otis Haywood (Keith David) in Jordan Peele's Nope. But that doesn't stop his kids from going after it
"Right here, you are going to witness an absolute spectacle," Ricky "Jupe" Park (Steven Yeun) says in the final trailer for Nope, which you can watch below. "So what happens next? You ready? Are you ready!?"
The latest horror film from Peele follows the residents of a lonely gulch of inland California as they stumble upon a chilling discovery. Emerald Haywood (Keke Palmer) sees this as an opportunity to get rich quick because she is convinced they will succeed in getting "the money shot ... the Oprah shot," aka "undeniable proof of aliens on camera," but her brother O.J. (Daniel Kaluuya) is a little more skeptical.
But they can't do it alone, so they team up with someone who has a bit more experiencing in filming phenomena (played by Michael Wincott) and the guy who sells them their gear (played by Brandon Perea).
Knowing Peele, what they saw in the cloud may not be exactly what people think (although it certainly looks like an alien ship), but regardless, it's bound to be very, very dangerous. The trailer offers glimpses at that as well, from an attack on the Haywood's house to the ominous message "not to look at them" or they may take you.
Peele writes, directs and produces, with Ian Cooper also serving as producer. The film will be released by Universal Pictures on July 22.
