Ewan McGregor in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'
Disney+In honor of May the Fourth, Disney+ released a new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring Ewan McGregor as the iconic Jedi Master.
The latest in the Star Wars franchise for the smaller screen is now set to premiere on the streamer on May 27, in the middle of Disney's Star Wars Celebration weekend.
In the trailer, which you can watch below, Obi-Wan is being hunted by Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen), but he also spies a young Luke Skywalker who seems ripe for Jedi training, and he's ready to take on the role of teacher once again once the boy is ready. Unfortunately, not everyone (namely Owen Lars, played by Joel Edgerton) is convinced it will work out.
The show picks up a decade after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which the Jedi Master faced his greatest defeat to date: the corruption of his best friend and apprentice Anakin Skywalker (Christensen), who became the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The new trailer offers a glimpse at Darth Vader now and what his hunt for our titular hero will look like.
"They're coming. Stay hidden or we will not survive," Obi-Wan says in the trailer.
Obi-Wan Kenobi also stars Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The show is directed by Deborah Chow and executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Chow, McGregor, and Joby Harold.
