Watch a trailer for 'Physical' Season 2 ahead of its June 3 premiere on Apple TV+.
Murray Bartlett and Rose Byrne in 'Physical'
Apple TV+It's time to get up and get active again: The Physical Season 2 trailer is here.
Physical, which thus far has a Metascore of 60, returns to Apple TV+ with its second season on June 3. The show stars Rose Byrne as Sheila Rubin, who successfully launched a fitness video ("Body by Sheila!"), but now faces new (and bigger) obstacles as an entrepreneur and independent woman in the '80s.
"I would love to expand into my own lifestyle brand," Sheila says in the trailer, which you can watch below.
Unfortunately, when surrounded by a group of male executives, she is just told to "stick to the plan."
Additionally, her husband (played by Rory Scovel) doesn't get what she's doing, calling her fitness tape "a film," she is accused of theft of intellectual property, and she is no longer the shiny, new fitness leader in town, as Murray Bartlett joins the show as Vinnie Green, who is not only a charismatic instructor and weight-loss guru, but also a pioneer in the late-night infomercial world. And celebrity comes with an extra shine — and a much larger following.
As Sheila studies up and takes on a business partner to expand her own empire, she has one goal in mind: "Annihilation," she reveals.
Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Paul Sparks round out the cast in Season 2. The show comes from creator and showrunner Annie Weisman, who executive produces alongside Stephanie Laing, who also directs; Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements for Tomorrow Studios; Alexandra Cunningham; John McNamara; Sera Gamble; Craig Gillespie; and Byrne. Alissa Bachner serves as co-executive producer. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios.
