Rise, a new film based on the real lives of the Antetokounmpo family, will debut June 24 on Disney+, and the streamer has just released a trailer to preview the story.

Rise is based on the real lives of Giannis, Kostas, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, brothers who became the first sibling trio to become NBA champions, Giannis and Thanasis both for the Milwaukee Bucks, and Kostas for the Los Angeles Lakers. It also charts the story of their younger brother, Alex.

Uche Agada plays Giannis, while Jaden Osimuwa stars as Kostas and Ral Agada stars as Thanasis. Dayo Okeniyi and Yetide Badaki play their parents, Charles and Vera, respectively.

Charles and Vera emigrated from Nigeria to Greece, where they lived with the daily threat of deportation while trying to provide for their five children overall. Their oldest son was still living in Nigeria with other family members, while Giannis and Thanasis played basketball on a local youth team in Greece. Although they came to the sport later than many, they had greatness within them and a drive that kept them working hard to become top athletes.

Giannis entered the NBA draft in 2013 as a long shot prospect, but he was selected, which changed the course of his life, as well as the rest of his family's lives.

Rise also stars Manish Dayal and Taylor Nichols. It is is directed by Akin Omotoso, written by Arash Amel, and produced by Bernie Goldmann. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Douglas S. Jones serve as executive producers.
