Having a baby will change your life, everyone knows that, but in HBO's limited series The Baby, those changes are deadly. See a sneak peek at how in a new trailer, below.

The Baby centers on Natasha (Michelle De Swarte) who is frustrated that all of her closest friends are having babies. She doesn't want one, but she ends up as one after a baby quite literally drops into her arms from a cliff. Unfortunately, that meet isn't so cute, as multiple people die in the events that lead to her caring for the baby, and once he is in her care, additional people begin dying around them.

"It's just a lot, all the time, forever," Natasha says of suddenly becoming a mother. And that would be true even without the death.

The baby is described as "controlling, manipulative, but incredibly cute," and although she tries to shirk her new responsibilities, she finds she cannot because the baby has chosen her and will do anything to keep her. He also has a mysterious Mrs. Eaves (Amira Ghazalla) seemingly around him at all times, adding to the intrigue of where he came from, what he can do, and why.

The eight-episode horror-comedy series, which comes from creators Siân Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer and premieres April 24 at 10:30 p.m., also stars Amber Grappy, Patrice Naiambana, Sinéad Cusack, Shvorne Marks, Isy Suttie, Tanya Reynolds, Seyan Sarvan, Karl Davies, and Divian Ladwa. It is a co-production with Sky and produced by Sister and Proverbial Pictures. In addition to Robins-Grace, Jane Featherstone, Carolyn Strauss, and Naomi de Pear executive produce, while Katie Carpenter serves as co-executive producer, and Gaymer serves as producer. Directors on the season are Nicole Kassell, Stacey Gregg, Faraz Shariat, and Ella Jones. The show will also stream on HBO Max.
