See Chris Pine reunite with Ben Foster in a trailer for The Contractor, out in theaters, on digital, and on demand April 1.

The Contractor stars Pine as Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who gets involuntarily discharged from the Army and therefore cut off from his pension. He is in debt and desperate to provide for his family, so he begins to work with a private, underground military force.

James is told he will work with presidential authority, on projects that require "scalpel work" compared to the sledgehammer-style he was used to in the Army. But even being so precise doesn't come without danger.

It isn't long before an assignment goes awry, though, and suddenly he finds himself on the run and in the middle of in a dangerous conspiracy. As he fights simply to stay alive and not get caught by those hunting him, he also tries to uncover the motives of those who betrayed him.

The action thriller, which comes from Paramount Pictures, is written by J.P. Davis and directed by Tarik Saleh.

Foster stars in the film as a man named Mike who James starts working with in this new group, marking the fourth collaboration between him and Pine. In 2016 they appeared together in feature films Hell or High Water and The Finest Hours, and then in 2019, they both took part in Love, Antosha, the documentary celebrating the life and career of late actor Anton Yelchin.

Gillian Jacobs, Eddie Marsan, JD Pardo, Florian Munteanu, and Kiefer Sutherland also star in the film, which is rated R.
