Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans's characters come face-to-face for the first time in a new clip from The Gray Man, which is opening in theaters on July 15 and streaming on Netflix 22.

The film follows the titular CIA operative Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six (Gosling), who is considered the government agency's most skilled operative and was once a "merchant of death." But when he uncovers dark agency secrets, a former colleague Lloyd Hansen (Evans) puts a bounty on his head, which sets off a global manhunt.

Although the two both worked for the CIA, if the just-released clip, which you can watch below, is any indication, it does not appear they knew each other, though they certainly knew of each other.

In these extremely violent times, you should be warned that this clip does contain gun violence.

To that end, when Six and Lloyd encounter each other, Lloyd holds a gun under Six's chin. Yet Six is neither surprised, nor seemingly all that threatened.

"The white pants, the trash stache, it leans Lloyd," he says in the clip.

Although Six succeeds in a diversion that pushes their paths apart momentarily, Lloyd goes after him and does get a shot off. But in comes Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas), who shoots a tranquilizer at Lloyd.

The thriller, which is based on Mark Greaney's 2009 novel of the same title, also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Regé-Jean PageJessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura, and Alfre Woodard.

Joe Russo, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay, while both Joe and Anthony Russo serve as directors. The Netflix-AGBO-produced film counts both Russos, Joe Roth, Jeffery Kirschenbaum, Mike Larocca, and Chris Castaldi as producers, with Patrick Newall, Markus, McFeely, Jake Aust, Angela Russo-Otstot, Geoff Haley, Zack Roth, and Palak Patel serving as executive producers.
