It's midnight somewhere, so Netflix is celebrating by releasing a first look at the young cast of its forthcoming The Midnight Club adaptation, which the streamer also announced would premiere on Oct. 7.

(OK, no, they released it not because of the time but as a part of the annual Geeked Week virtual celebration.)

Bookended by the beeping of a digital watch striking midnight, the teaser introduces the eponymous characters individually, with each one of them taking a pivotal part of a line ("To those before, to those after, to us now, and to those beyond — seen or unseen, here but not here"), which then leads into the group coming together to toast and repeat the end: "Seen or unseen, here but not here."

The Midnight Club is Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong's version of Christopher Pike's 1994 novel of the same title that is set in a hospice and follows five teenagers who were sent there because they have terminal illnesses but who find community by gathering together and telling their own horror stories. (Obviously they gather at midnight, hence the title.)

The cast of The Midnight Club includes Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, Heather Langenkamp, Zach Gilford, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, Iman Benson, Larsen Thompson, William B. Davis, Crystal Balint, and Patricia Drake.

This is Flanagan's fourth series for Netflix, following The Haunting of Hill House (Metascore: 79), The Haunting of Bly Manor (63), and Midnight Mass (75). Fong previously worked with Flanagan on The Haunting of Bly Manor.
