Look out, YellowstoneWalker is coming for you.

The CW network drama about the titular Texas Ranger's life as a law enforcement official and family man on a Southern ranch is seeing its universe expand with a spin-off titled Walker: Independence, and you can get a glimpse at what that looks like in a just-released trailer, below.

Like Yellowstone's 1883, this spin-off is actually a prequel, also set in the 1880s. Walker: Independence follows Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara) and Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr) as they travel to and settle in Independence, Texas.

Abby is an affluent New Englander (from Boston, specifically) whose husband was murdered in front of her on their journey. Hoyt is described as "a lovable rogue in search of a purpose," and yes, he's the ancestor of Hoyt from the flagship series (also played by Barr). When the two make it to Texas, they encounter an eclectic group of new residents who all also are trying to chase dreams, but also are running from trouble in their pasts.

Walker: Independence also stars Philemon Chambers, Lawrence Kao, Greg Hovanessian, Justin Johnson Cortez, and Katie Findlay. The series comes from writer and executive producer Seamus Fahey and executive producers Anna Fricke, Larry Teng (who also directs the pilot), Jared Padalecki, Laura Terry, Dan Lin, and Lindsey Liberatore. CBS Studios produces.

Walker has a 51 Metascore from critics. Walker: Independence has not yet screened for review. It will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. following its flagship series, with the specific premiere date still to be announced.
