Writer and comedian Ziwe Fumudoh (known professionally just as Ziwe) is welcoming everyone from Nicole Byer to Charlamagne Tha God on the second season of her self-titled late-night Showtime series, which premieres May 1 at 11 p.m., and you can get a first look at what putting them in the hot seat looks like in a just-released trailer, below.

Known for hard-hitting questions mixed with comedy, the format of the second season of Ziwe will follow the first, in that it features both celebrity interviews, as well as sketches. Topics of discussion this season, as indicated by episode titles, include critical race theory, celebrity rights, fiscal conservatism, and empowerment.

For the latter, Ziwe asks Emily Ratajkowski, "What exactly does empowerment mean to you?" In another episode, she asks Chet Hanks what accent he will use for his appearance on the show.

The show also includes a beloved apology camera, which allows the guests to ask the audience for forgiveness for past misguided behavior. Who will take a turn there? Get a preview through the trailer at the line-up of guests this season, including Hannibal Buress, Ilana Glazer, Mia Khalifa, Jane Krakowski, Luann de Lesseps, Adam Pally, Katya Zamolodchikova, and the gossip blogger known as Deux Moi, who still keeps their identity hidden through an audio-only interview conducted with a voice distorter.

"I'm making empowering TV," Ziwe says in the trailer. "And if you don't like it, then you're just sad, jealous, ugly, and desperate."

The second season of Ziwe will be split into two parts, with the first consisting of six episodes. (More will follow later in the year, at a date still to be announced.)

Ziwe is produced by A24, with Ziwe, Jamund Washington, Jo Firestone, and Hunter Speese serving as executive producers.
