Adrian Edmondson

Biography: Adrian Charles Edmondson was born the second of four children on the 24th of January 1957 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England and is a British comedic actor, director and writer.

As a child his family spent time in Cyprus, Bahrain and Uganda, as his father was a teacher with the armed forces. He attended an exclusive boys school, Pocklington, until 18, when he went to Manchester University. Here he met Rik Mayall and achieved a 2:1 grade in his drama degree. Ade was married to his first wife Anna for three years, they divorced in 1979. He married his second wife, fellow comedian Jennifer Saunders in 1985 and has since had three children Eleanor (Ella) (born 22 January 1986), Beatrice (Beattie) (born 19 June 1987), and Freya (born 16 October 1990). His nickname 'Eddie Monsoon', a play on his surname, inspired the name of Saunders' character Edina Monsoon on Absolutely Fabulous.
