Alan Curtis

Biography: A dark, handsome, blue-eyed lead in "B"-movies and second lead in "A"'s, Alan Curtis got his start as a male model. First on screen in a bit part in 1936, he played romantic leads as well as villains. He generally appeared in routine films with a few notable exceptions, such as Phantom Lady (1944) in which he had the crucial role of a framed murder suspect. Following a kidney operation he died at the age of 43. Curtis married and divorced actress Ilona Massey, who co-starred with him in New Wine (1941).
