Douglas Fowley

Biography: Douglas V. Fowley is a prolific character actor--usually playing a nervous villain or gangster--who has appeared in over 200 films since the 1930s. He is perhaps best-remembered for his role as the flighty director in Singin' in the Rain (1952). Born Daniel Vincent Fowley in Greenwich Village, New York City, he began his career on the stage as a singer and comedian. In 1960, he produced and directed a single "B" movie, Macumba Love.
