Biography: Joey Travolta, born October 14, 1950, is far more than just another actor. Starting out with a humble beginning, Travolta took his education very seriously, and went on to earn a degree in Special Education from Patterson State College. From there he began a singing career with Casablanca records and began acting the following year. The lead actor of the film Sunnyside, by Filmways Productions, he went on from there to gain roles in many prominent movies including Beverly Hills Cop III and Oscar. Acting was not enough for Travolta. In search of greater avenues, he struck out into the world of independent film, wanting more control of his direction. In 1989 he wrote and directed Diva Las Vegas, winning the Italian Funny Film Festival award. By 2002 Travolta had directed eleven more films, as well as several television series such as L.A. Heat.
