Marisa Ryan

Biography: Marisa was born on November 20, 1974 in Queens, New York. Her acting career began when she was just a baby. Marisa's parents met at H-B Studios so she was introduced to acting at a very young age. "My first acting gig was a Pampers commercial when I was five months old. Then when I was seven, I did a film called "Without A Trace" about the disappearance of Etan Patz." Marisa's parents divorced while she was still a child. Her early years were divided between her mother's home in Queens and her father's on the Lower East Side.

For a year Marisa attended the High School for the Performing Arts in New York and then transferred to California. When she was thirteen she was cast in the tv-series "Tattingers". Eventually the series was cancelled so she auditioned for a part on "Major Dad". Marisa got the role and was with the show for four years. In 1989 she was nominated for "Best Young Actress Starring In A Television Series" at the 12th Annual Youth In Film Awards. At nineteen

Marisa got a role on "New York Undercover" when she was twenty-two. She liked the role because she was finally able to play a character that was age appropriate.

Marisa's family has always been very supportive of her career. Her mother was previously a singer and is now a guidance counselor at a public school in Queens. Her father teaches English as a second language. In the future Marisa plans to constantly explore new ground in her work and would like to be able to choose the kind of work she would like to do. She also would like to have a family and spend some time in the Caribbean.
