Martin Sheen
Biography: A wonderfully versatile actor with an overwhelming number of stage, television and movie credits to his name, Martin Sheen started out playing bad boys in his twenties and has ended up the quintessential father figure. Although he will forever be associated with his seminal role in the feature Apocalypse Now, his small-screen projects have brought him the most fame, particularly his seven-year, Emmy-winning turn as the president of the United States on The West Wing, one of the myriad political characters he has played throughout his career. A tireless liberal activist and devoted family man off screen, Sheen has been married to Janet Sheen since 1961 and is the father of four children, including actors Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. In 2006, after his term on The West Wing ended, Sheen, who skipped college earlier in life in order to pursue acting, enrolled at the National University of Ireland in Galway to study English literature for one semester.
