Michael Johns

Biography: Michael Johns is a singer and a songwriter who was born on October 20, 1978 at Perth, Western Australia to William and Janet Lee.

He attended high school at Newman College and later went to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on a tennis scholarship. He took up drama for two quarters before he left to further pursue his music career.

Before even he pursued a solo career in singing, he was part of a musical group called Film. He eventually traveled to Los Angeles to perform for numerous record labels and eventually signed with Maverick Records with a group called The Rising. He co-produced the band's very first album, which failed to released.

On July 30th and 31st, Johns auditioned for "American Idol" at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. He sang "I've Been Loving You Too Long" by Otis Redding and got the attention of all three judges. He eventually made it into the finals of the show, but was eliminated on April 10, 2008, garnering 8th place.
