Mimi Benzell

Biography: Her grandfather was a singer of Jewish folk songs in Russia before his emigration to America. She studied at the David Manners Music School in N.Y., making her debut in 1944 during a Mozart festival in Mexico City. In 1949, she
became a popular singer in Broadway shows and in nightclubs. In addition to her TV work, she also appeared on such radio shows as The Railroad Hour and MGM Musical Comedy Theatre of the Air.
