Richie Wilcox

Biography: Richie Wilcox is from New Waterford, NS,(Cape Breton). He graduated with honors from the Theatre Studies program at Dalhousie's Kings College in 2002. His career began when he was invited to sing on Rita MacNeil's TV Christmas Special when he was in grade four.

He was 23 years old and working as a Deli Manager when he auditioned in Halifax for Canadian Idol. He intially auditioned for Canadian Idol so he could write an article for his local paper. He made the top 11 for being the #3 vote-getter in Group 2. He got elimated because his charm could not overcome a dull performance in the first live show. He is co-founder of Angels and Heroes, a theatre company in Halifax. Since appearing on Canadian Idol, Richie continues to pursue his acting and directing career he had started prior to Idol. He did coverage of Canadian Idol for Season 2. He has also been performing and making public appearances around Nova Scotia and has become a weekly television columnist for
