Biography: 1979-Took a part-time job at CKRD radio in Red Deer Alberta
1984- CFAC hires Ron to host Calgary Flames telecasts.
1984- Becomes a sport anchor on the local evening news. 1986- Becomes Toronto Maple Leafs telecasts host and eventually full time host of Hockey Night In Canada. 1988- Hosted CBC's coverage of the Seoul Summer Olympics. 1992- Hosted CBC's coverage of Winter Olympics in Albertville. 1994- Hosted CBC's coverage of the Commonwealth Games in Victoria 1996- Hosted CBC's coverage of Summer Olympic games in Atlanta. 1998- Hosted the XVI Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur 1998- Hosted CBC's coverage of the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano 2000- Hosted the Late Night and Early Morning shows at the Sydney Olympic Summer Games. 2001- Hosted CBC Sports in Edmonton for coverage of the 8th IAAF World Championships in Athletics. 2002- Hosted the third annual Hockey Day in Canada extravaganza 2002- Hosted daytime show at the
