Shecky Greene

Biography: Shecky Greene began his comic career in the late fifties when comedienne Martha Raye caught his act and asked him to play her club in Miami. Shecky's television role in the series Combat! brought him much success. He appeared on variety shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show, The Hollywood Palace, The Dean Martin Comedy Hour and The NBC COoedy Hour. From his Las Vegas Shows to television appearances Shecky has been around over 50 years and is credited with "saving" The Tropicana in 1964 with his lounge act. In the 70's Shecky performed on various talk shows and television sitcoms and was especially big on the game show circuit with his outlandish humor.
