Sins offers an informative, uncondescending glimpse at single-minded desire.
Spurlock and his collaborators (he created the show with Jeremy Chilnick) have a good eye for the absurd, and for presenting what amount to carnival-sideshow acts without engaging in excessive smirking.
Despite artful photography and a penchant for loving slow-motion shots, these vices, as described both by those who enjoy and provide them, become demystified through the explaining.
It's about a fascination with otherness, which Spurlock indulges in but never manages to make significant.
