Top Cast
It's got the lush forest scenery, the well-chiseled actors and actresses, and lots of sorcery and hand-to-hand combat. What Beastmaster doesn't have in common with "Xena" are good scripts and actors. As Dar the Beastmaster, Daniel Goddard is about as charismatic as a Stairmaster. And while Monica Schnarre, as the Sorceress, and Natalie Mendoza, as Kyra, both look great, that's not reason enough to endure this witless silliness. [9 Oct 1999, p.75]
