Buoyed by a bravura performance from Australian Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises) as prodigal son Danny Rayburn, Bloodline is an absorbing, fractious family drama that captivates despite giving away Season 1’s major development in the very first hour.
Bloodline unfolds like a good novel. It’s so well acted, that like a good book, it’s hard to stay away from it

This tightly-written, brilliantly acted, dark, and poignant series is one I will not soon forget. I just finished all three seasons. Anyone who had childhood experiences that changed your life's path will appreciate and become wholly lost in this exploration of 'the butterfly effect.' One act impacts the next and ever after. To Ben Mendelsohn, you are every bit the actor Deniro is. Your portrayal of Danny was nothing short of perfect and most likely more real than the writers ever envisioned. Deeply human. To the rest of the cast, I applaud you and your performances that brought each character such life that the viewer could almost predict how a character would respond in any given situation. I'm not saying the show was predictable; rather, your performances revealed the essence of each character in both nuanced and hard-hitting scenes. Thank you.

for me bloodline is one of the best shows the last few years, it's up there with shows like fargo or other all time classics.. you will hate most of the characters but in a good way, they acting is outstanding and it's very satisfying to see how each of those individuals **** up.. just a good watch, try it out

The writers of Bloodline apparently don't trust us in the deep water yet. But it's worth wading into, anyway.
Nothing here is especially groundbreaking. But Bloodline smartly dives into its soapy doings with multiple plots, as well as an impressive acting roster.
There’s not a lackluster performance among the superb cast members of Bloodline; Chandler and Cardellini, especially, are in top form. Nevertheless, it’s Mendelsohn, as Danny, who makes the best of a script that at times seems overly opaque.
The problem with this promising but often forgettable mystery is ultimately simple: One never really feels the idiosyncratic heat. These pulp shenanigans fails to cohere as a distinctly unified vision.
From a plot standpoint, Bloodline is completely flat, using its shifting timelines as a trick to make mundane developments seem more ominous than they really are.
This might be the "smartest" show i have ever seen. The dynamics of "The Rayburn" clan is brilliantly scripted. I watched the First Season in under 24 hours, I couldn't stop watching it. Season One has dark comedy, tragedy and is, perhaps, the most "believable" drama i have stumbled across. The acting is fantastic and the plot from show to show plays out fairly predictable once you understand The Rayburn's (in Season One, that is). Season Two (most notably Episode 4) is a jaw dropper. The curveball's (think Sandy Koufax/Doc Gooden-esque curveball) really start flying from "Go" but Bloodline is definitely something to experience and enjoy. Be prepared for a pleasant surprise, hard knocks and all.

I've seen the first two episodes, and I sure hope that things pick up soon. We're off to a VERY meandering and, sad-to-say, slow start. Kyle Chandler is being wasted so far. He displays maybe a 10th of the charisma and presence that he did on Friday Night Lights. I'll certainly keep watching, but if this were a network show, I probably would have stopped by now.

Watching all these annoying people constantly whine and bicker was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I really tried but after three episodes I had to turn it off. Everyone did a fine job but I hated all the characters and the the whole sweaty, dysfunctional family.

I know i am in the minority, but I never cared for Sam Shepherd, so I struggled with that first. Then with the way they display women. A married woman who would be in her 4O's with older kids really walks around with no bra and belly shirt and short shorts? C'mon the kids would die of embarrassment...even if mom was good looking. And for the love of all marriages not every one is horny all the **** actually have some **** some humor...this show sadly has no humor.

i don't watch many shows these days with dark story lines but i was completely drawn into bloodline. this slowly unfolding tense story has got me hooked. the cast is terrific. i'm halfway through season 2 and look forward to season 3. i'm sad to hear of it's cancellation after the third season. for all the critics who criticize it's slowness i say f them. there are plenty of fast moving tv shows with fast talking people for them. i like bloodline just the way it is.
