The show is often so gross, one is tempted to suggest that our local arts schools should start steering its graduates toward more meaningful fields--such as automotive mechanics or doggy waste disposal. But Blue is also frequently funny in a raunchy “American Pie” way.
While it's nice that Spike is seeking to widen its narrow unscripted profile, by hewing so closely to its formula, the net has simply made this too-blue Mountain into a comedic molehill.
I had to create an account to leave a review after reading some of the negative reviews about this show. There is different kinds of humour in this world and it seams some people cannot adapt. This show is just immature **** and bum jokes, but it is extremely funny. Critics are fools, but thats expected these days, they have an unnecessary self entitlement, unless its french with subtitles and in black and white critics these days just go negative straight away, but most critics are uptight fools, and the quick glance off a hairy muff on a french movie/tv show is enough to get them going and an automatic good review.
This show is not trying to break new comedy barriers, if you can't see that then you have no hope. Sit down with a beer and have a cheap laugh at this show, if you are an old crusty fogy who is offended by everything have a bit of reminiscence of your more youthful days instead of getting offended by cheap easy sex, drugs and swearing comedy.
I wish they made more series, its so good to watch when you just want to have an easy laugh and not have to think.
I began watching Blue Mountain State from the beginning while I was in high school and I still love it just as much now as I did back then. BMS is absolutely hilarious and the bad reviews this show receives seem to be from people who do not know how to laugh or take a joke. I have watched the season multiple times and Thad is always just as funny. The character of Thad Castle is loved by the vast majority of football players in my generation. Hopefully the newly released movie will be able to keep this show going again.
Blue Mountain State, a bawdy comedy about a fictional college football powerhouse that had a sneak-peek showing on Monday, is dumb even by frat-boy standards.
I absolutely loved this show. Sure, some of the content was vulgar and crude... But there was one thing that I cherished as a college football fan:
1) It was the only college football based tv show!!! It's ridiculous that there aren't more, given the popularity of the sport.
Dont listen to the critics who obviously just dislike the show because its too damn crazy. They make it seem like every episode is the same, but let me tell you, every new episode you will be surprised again. BMS offers the perfect mix of flat and subtle humour at the same time. This show is completely outrageous, absolutely crazy. If you expect stuff to get serious at some time, you are wrong, there isnt a single moment where not everything is completely mad. But trust me, if you like a show that makes you laugh like mad, that you can watch over and over again, that you will buy on DVD to show to all your friends, and that inspires you to do all kinds of crazy stuff and go out and "grab life at the boobs", WATCH BMS! If you however dont like breasts, sick parties, graphic or gross stuff happening, crazy and overexeggarated humour, constant sexual themes and nonstop unseriousness, then you are wrong.
Once over the initial disgust caused by the cruelty and casual bigotry of these unfunny characters the first word that comes to mind is boring. The only way for me to find this show endearing is by taking more drugs than the vegetable who wrote the script. With less substance than worlds worst car chases Spike tv astounds the mind by striking at this incredible new low.
The lowest form of humor. Unlikable characters, non-intelligent dialog and revolting. This is"Disaster Movie" of Television. The show runs by going against every moral right a human should have for themselves.
My god, this is just pure cancer. It's fine to make a TV show about college life, but make it BRILLIANT AND GOOD, don't make the same mistakes as these people, that are on steroids, did. I had to put up with people who gets angry over losing football. They're like "Oh there's children starving in Africa and terrorist attacks but no this is the worst thing ever!!!!!!". Grow the **** up! The characters **** and the humor is not even 1% funny! When me and my friends were talking about tv shows, Carson and Sam said that Blue Mountain State is better than anime and they THINK anime is just porn. Don't get me wrong, it exist but that doesn't mean they are all about porn. Most are NOT. I was like, "Are you guys ****ing high?!" Stay away from this show and stick to something else!
