The series looks and feels appropriately ghoulish with a couple of good gotcha moments and excellently rendered scary creatures prowling the shadows, in between clunky expository passages.
Great show sadly canceled due to the clueless like the

Constantine doubles down on both shape-shifting and puzzlements. Its whiz-bang-boom special effects also might serve as ample enticements for viewers who don’t much care whether anything makes any real sense.
The best thing about the new NBC series, Constantine, which is based on The DC Comics "Hellblazer" series, is that its hero has a roguish sense of humor
A well-stubbled Matt Ryan works hard to charm with womp-womp wit.... A wan female sidekick comes and goes. But the cockroaches impress. Good luck giving a damn about the rest.
Matt Ryan plays title character John Constantine, and he gets an incomplete on his acting grade because he has so little legitimate material with which to work.
The show is on of the best of all times! I love everything in it especially John Constantine, his character is so charming and fantastic. The show has awesome music too, usually many shows doesn't have good soundtracks but this really does. Praying for the 2nd season!
"Constantine" was canceled some time ago by NBC but is still being shopped around. I hope it finds a new home. With some tweaking it has the potential to be a good show.
"Constantine" is the TV adaptation of the DC comic anti hero John Constantine. He's a chain smoking (although less so on TV) bristly character who is cursed to grapple with the forces of evil due to his past misdeeds. John describes himself as a "demonologist, exorcist and master of the dark arts".
In episode 1 we think Liz will end up his partner but she gets the boot. Instead Zed (who is a psychic) arrives to help with the weekly demon quests. Chas is also along for the ride. Manny the Angel drops in from time to time to offer advise (or just to heckle John). Papa Midnite also arrives later in the season and he's really cool
I enjoyed a number of the stories. My favorites were the Hunger Demon and Coblynau. Constantine also has a cool house (with endless doors you're not supposed to open) and lots of relics with supernatural powers (including Aleister Crowley's shaving brush and Achille's heel, well specifically the sinew from his heel). This reminds me of "Warehouse 13" but it's still fun to watch.
My criticisms of the show is that a few of the stories were so so. Also the actress who plays Zed accent kept slipping which was unnerving. I do think John and Zed have chemistry so that's good. We just need more meat to their story lines and some good demons to chase.
In conclusion, is "Constantine" must see TV. Not really but with some adjustments I would be back for a second look for sure.
constantine it s far more than demons and angels it' s the whole consept of supernatural forces and the actor that plays constantine just doesnt feel like it so english crap character
Have you got a daemon in your pocket, happy to see me, get excorsized. This show a joke.
Nothing but more daemons are coming, at least another arrogant daemon each week.
He doesn't go to hell at all through the water, never seen him use. The back story is mostly drivel his goal of redemption was to correct his mistake, not because he is forced to not have another choice.
Where are any super scary arch deamons, who aren't suppose to be directly involved, there are angels walking about....
The writing is SOOO bad. It's like the writers have never had actual interactions with real human beings.
The actors aren't much better.
Rent the movie and watch it once a week, it's FAR better.
