Impeccably acted and written series. ... "Dead" is a rare Netflix's series that's well-paced for a binge-watch. It unfolds slowly but assuredly. ... The series feels more alive than almost anything else on the air right now.
The best parts of the show are its unending reveals and the ways the characters dodge disaster. Oh, and the dead bodies, too. ... Ultimately, the show is a comedy, after all. Cardellini is especially good this season, as we learn more about how Jen came about her extremely mellow demeanor. And Applegate is funny, as she was last season, as she curses, breaks down, and swigs wine with a vengeance, all while her world continues to fall apart.

One of the best shows i've watched for a long time. Lina Cardellini is incredible as Judy and Christina is also amazing.

Like many good dramas, everything is constructed around an initial act of deception; once you know about it, you’ll spend the rest of this easily addictive series fretting about when and how the truth will finally come out.
Dead to Me is at its strongest when presenting such tangled psychological landscapes in order to reorient our understanding of loss. It’s funny and sad, often both and rarely neither, a compelling and quietly radical depiction of grief’s emotional haze.
“Dead to Me” recaptures some of the magic it had in its strong first season. But in its desire to wrap up all of its loose ends along the way, Feldman and the writers stuff too many ideas into the mix, almost as if speedrunning a three-season arc into the one final turn at bat that Netflix would actually shell out for.
I’m pretty sure there was a Lifetime version of this story and the best part was it was over in two hours. Cardellini does the best she can, but the writing for her character and her motivations make no sense.
There can be comfort in the familiar, but for it to be entertaining and engaging it must be well made. Dead to Me is badly paced, tonally inconsistent and – above all – deadly dull.
This show is very confusing to me,not in content but how it makes me feel. It feels as if it should be better than it actually was. Focusing on the strength of female friendship it explores the ramifications of a hit and run on two women at the opposite side of the incident. It rlfeels like a romantic comedy thriller that never seems to deliver the payoffs it teases:things feel a little to easy especially when they aren't stretching belief.

First season was good (6 out of 10ish). Second season jumped off a cliff. Sprinkle in some of the mandatory Netflix **** as a plot device, some terrible soap opera style writing (including the old they had a twin?? Trope), and finally some plot "twists" you'll see coming from a mile away. The second season also has no sense of humor like the first did. It actually views more life a crappy Lifetime show if anything. Definitely not looking forward to the newly announced season and won't be watching.
