In just six episodes, F Is For Family will certainly make you laugh, but its dramatic heft is so unexpectedly huge that it might also move you to tears.
It’s a bitter, but deeply empathetic portrayal of suburban malaise and depression that also doubles as a very funny TV show.

between Family Guy and King of the Hill coupled with the simpsons. A frustrated middle class American dad, raising 2 kids, with a frustrated wife who sells Plastiware out of her house. And a union airport baggage handler who gets an unexpected promotion to management after his boss dies on the job. It covers it all, class differences, union disputes, growing up in the old days, playing outdoors, and how family comes together. I love Frank played by Bill Burr, if you like Bills comedy you will love this show

SEASON 1
The semi-serialized six-episode run has a dark, bittersweet quality, but despite some clever moments, F generally merits no more than a “B.”
The show is funny, but a not-always-subtle flip side makes the jokes funny as well. Inevitably, we view it all through both our personal lens and through contemporary sensibilities.
After six episodes, much has changed and the focal points indicate a knowledge of the deeper impact Frank has on his family. The first season even sets up beautifully for a fascinating and much-needed role reversal in Season 2, but the overall tone leaves much to be desired. Primarily, it's not very funny.
The tone is more restrained than outrageous, but Burr and Price don’t have a strong enough perspective to compensate for the mediocre humor. Their average family is a little too average.
It's not laugh out loud that's for sure. The main character is en route for a meltdown that will doubtless end with police tapes around the house and a TV channel helicopter overhead as the bodies are wheeled out. The animation is authentically 70s, which is to say it's pretty awful, and the voice acting is patchy at best. That said it's not a bad way to pass the time if you can live with the depression that hangs over you after the show's final credits roll.

This is not a good show. Honestly I did have a few short lived smirks during the first episode. However its far more depressing than it is funny. The dad is a sad mean man whose wife is far smarter than him and deserves better but puts up with it. Why? Maybe they will explain it but who cares? Bill Burr's take on the classic family of America in the 70's reminds me more of what's wrong with America and the American dream than anything else. Not that that kind of thing doesn't have its place, but its place is not in a cartoon comedy. F is for Family seems to think we should laugh about how **** life was for some people and how they just accepted it. If you love comedic cartoons like I do and you want to laugh and not be sad then just don't watch this. The best thing about this show is Sam Rockwell and he should not have participated in this travesty. I don't

I am a big fan of Bill Burr and Sam Rockwell. I really did not find this show funny. The swearing is over the top, a bit redundant. The themes are actually boring. I noticed that this show did get a lot of positive reviews. I'm sure it will be picked up but I will not be watching.
