The show is good enough that it does engage you episode to episode. Personally, I didn't find it funny at all, though I can be pretty particular when it comes to comedy. I was fine with the main character, but I can see many people finding him annoying. What the show does best is the direction of its action scenes, which can be intense and have a sense of epic scale. is vastness that brings our nihilism out while giving contrast to human creation(movie "gravity''),a meditation on a endless dark desert.Final Space opening ,with a omniscient camera, shows the characters fighting in the edge of and "N" zooming out until "pale blue dot" (misleading).maybe to put in perspective how important relationships are and little our struggle(or im insane(plausible)).As the show progresses i could feel a light and fresh femininity on its writing without the angst of programmer tanned with pimples and screenlight but stalls on Dragons ball z directed by a overprotective mother(repetitive without well choreographed badass fights). Final space has The Simpsons naivety and silliness without relatable situations and Family Guy violence without dark self deprecating humor. References like Hans zimmer(Interstellar),arcade fire(Her),Startrek, starwars, doctor Who,delayed gratification(Ted Talks) are put into a blender to form
a Zeitgeist smoothie too smooth to be felt(like a baby eating marshmallows in a velvet room),not self aware,NOT META (how dare you) ,gratuitous references.Final space is for normal healthy people without existential problems and just like its fans(10 year olds)its boring with great potential.

Very standard sometimes chuckleworthy sci-fi lark sort of reminds me of a cross between red dwarf and futurama minus the humour. Animation is serviceable but unfortunately in 2018 it really pays to be picky with your animated diet.

It's okay. Not horrible. Not very good, though. What this show does good is it's decent animation. Where it falls flat is its lack of developed characters, and the 1 developed character is cringe-worthy because of how sexually aggressive he is towards the 1 female lead; think Pepé Le Pew, the horny skunk. Voice acting is amazing from everyone, EXCEPT, the male lead; I am very aware it's some dude trying a hero voice. It gets annoying because of how forced it sounds. Series plot-wise, you don't get much reason to care bc the world isn't developed enough. Character plots are handled the same. You get too many arcs thrown in episode 1, none progress, and it's really hard to care for the characters in the in-episode conflict/resolution plots bc the protagonists and antagonists are still complete strangers. In closing, the show is a poor substitute for better written shows like Rick and Morty, American Dad, Venture Brothers, etc... The show is fine, just don't expect any sort of satisfaction watching an episode. Expand

While the action is pretty enjoyable, the overall plots become boring to watch over time. When it trys humor, it's very hit or miss, coming into the show, I thought it would have done better with it's humor, but the more episodes I watch it gets harder to accept it's mediocrity. Overall the characters seem predictable and the cringy boring dialogue wise.

Juvenile and bland attempts at comedy, incredibly generic sci fi fluff, and boring animation would be the most serious detriments to this show if the complete lack of focus wasn't already derailing this unfocused semi-parody, semi-serious bland show.

That fusion of the simple and the vibrant is what makes the show worth tuning in for. Final Space is working from a template, but it’s adding colors that make these journeys well worth taking.

As a satire on science-fiction and the world we ordinarily live in, it is not as clever as "Futurama" or "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" or "Galaxy Quest," series with which it shares certain features. The comedy leans toward things adolescent boys find funny. ... But it clips along and looks good.

Final Space needs to find a smarter path to its humor (and force its main character to grow up), but the Futurama-meets-Steven Universe premise holds promise, and with some adjustments, this series could potentially launch into hyper-speed.
