Just watch the season 1 and 2. Not Season 3.

Season 3 made me say in front of the screen "Why are you doing this, it doesn't make sens?!" out loud. Or "You are a bartender in season 1, you can't be CEO of a multi-billionaire company in season 3?!". Or "It's been 1 week on mars and you are already arguing and fighting like teenager, you are supposed to be world class astronauts?!" I

I usually don't write review but I used to love this show and the logic and character from the first season has been insulted and buried by the bad show writers.

Seasons 1 and 2 are both excellent, believable revisionist's visions of what "could" have happened if the race to space of the Soviet Union and the US had gone differently. After a first few episodes of season 3, I'm devastated that this show has taken a turn for the ridiculous. To go from a slowly progressing presence on the moon with reasonably increasing rate of technology to a giant floating space hotel that we're going to fly to Mars in less than 20 years from the first moon landing is not even remotely feasible. And the soap opera direction of the Danny slash Karen story line is a real drag on what little drama there is left. Season 3 is a massive misfire so far. Expand

Yes, the show is woke. But the bigger issue is that it is just plain slow and unexciting, with characters that are hard to get invested in. And fans of science fiction won't see much (or any) science fiction. For example, in S3, of all the things that could possibly happen to a crew on Mars, a landslide is probably one of the least interesting. Season 3 is so terribly written it made me want to gag. Highlights include dude stomping on a toy puppy on Mars for dramatic effect. Ugly little brother somehow stumbling into a conspiracy group. Just don't watch it.. this show ended with season 2 for me and it was a great show while it lasted. Expand

Wokeness ruined this show. White man evil in Hollywood. I won't watch any more episodes. Such a good series ruined by the woke.

The show also goes small, depicting how national expectations roil the lives of those on the inside. While this dimension of the series isn't as strong as its alt-history, this is still a project by Ronald D. Moore, who set the space opera standard with the revival of Battlestar Galactica.

The show has learned from the mistakes of its first season, which had a very slow start. The initial episode of the current season feels as heart-pumping as a blockbuster action movie.

More than once, I was frustrated by season three — frustrated enough to resort to all-caps yelling to anyone who could listen. Even still, there are few shows I’ve enjoyed more this year and few finales I’ve looked forward to more than this one, and despite those frustrations, I still vastly prefer the show’s impulse to dig into the painful places rather than to skitter around on superficials.
