I can't honestly say that I'm enjoying this series as much as the first and second. None of the "next generation characters are remotely interesting and completely lack charisma. When did you ever hear of Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldriin's kids joining NASA anyway? Also I think they're in danger of simply repeating kkwhat we've already seen take place on the moon now take place on Mars. Why is Gordo s son (I never bothered to learn his name)! suddenly cracking up like his Dad? How does that make any sense? Also they've strayed back into season 1 territory of being over the top woke! What's Ellen's role been yet again this series? To be gay? A gay president this time? Nobody cares, its just not an interesting storyline., and on top of that now the other guy turns out to be gay. Don't bother giving him a personality or any reason to like or care about his character, just make him gay and they can spend two episodes addressing that! Boring.

The show also goes small, depicting how national expectations roil the lives of those on the inside. While this dimension of the series isn't as strong as its alt-history, this is still a project by Ronald D. Moore, who set the space opera standard with the revival of Battlestar Galactica.

The show has learned from the mistakes of its first season, which had a very slow start. The initial episode of the current season feels as heart-pumping as a blockbuster action movie.

More than once, I was frustrated by season three — frustrated enough to resort to all-caps yelling to anyone who could listen. Even still, there are few shows I’ve enjoyed more this year and few finales I’ve looked forward to more than this one, and despite those frustrations, I still vastly prefer the show’s impulse to dig into the painful places rather than to skitter around on superficials.
