This series is based on the book and movie Friday Night Lights. Season two of Friday Night Lights was cut from twenty two to just fifteen completed episodes because of the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. In order to save the show and produce a new season, DirecTV stepped up and will air new episodes of season three on DirecTV's "The 101" during the fall, and then they will premiere during the winter on NBC. Both seasons can be found on DVD, as well as repeats on Bravo.… Expand

One of the few shows on network TV that does everything right. A true slice of American life from the state of Texas. I just rewatched after watching when it aired 15 years ago and I like it even more this time through.

Friday Night Lights is a series that shows the in depth passion that the state of Texas has for the game of football. Especially, High School Football. It is definitely a "binge" watch type of series. Too much whitey hate blacky for me. All the tropes are there from top to bottom. Not sure how the critics received this well as I've never seen people act like this and I went to a school in a pretty rich area as well.. Not once did one of the white kids pull his laptop away from one of theToo much whitey hate blacky for me. All the tropes are there from top to bottom.
