Overall, it’s a smart, extremely watchable horror show that would likely become a big hit on a streaming giant but might get lost on Epix. Find your way to it.
From Season 2 can feel like it is bouncing around the same elements. There are enough sparks of life to keep it moving, but it still has much to do as it continues to stumble into darkness.

To be honest, It’s not clear for me why rating is so low. It’s the best show from 2022.
- Great story
- interesting mystery
- Characters with motivation I thought that I became too old and don’t like modern Netflix-like show at all.
But I really liked this show. Great work!

While there is far more about From that works than doesn’t, it’s not clear by the midway point if it is building to much more than an impressively gory massacre or two.
Jack Bender, the director of the first four episodes, has fun with this well-worn trope. It is the kind of show in which Jim brakes hard and says: “What the … – ?” When there is a tree blocking the road, Tabitha says: “Why is there a tree blocking the road?” It must be the storm, says Jim. “That’s one selective storm,” she replies. Of course it is, Tabitha. It is a spooky-ass zone where the laws of nature don’t apply.

Given the long history of mystery-box shows better at teasing ideas than delivering them, such skepticism isn’t necessarily unwarranted. And yet, From offers enough glimmers of promise that it’s tough to write off entirely.
“From” maintains the audiences’ interest because of Harold Perrineau’s acting. He believes in the character and so does the audience. But like many of the shows it’s inspired/imitating, depending on your view, it spends too much time setting up its world and not pushing the story forward.
Writing as of Episode 20 (Season 2) I find the show very good and interesting. Not only does it develop its spooky premise, but it fills out the spaces in between with some pretty great drama. Feels a lot like Lost but has definitely learned important lessons from that show's infamous demise

The casting doesn't fit the characters. Inexperienced casting director. With a few exceptions, the acting is sub-par. The most believable character is delivered by,"the nurse." There are times when the story drags, but the horror element is there. I was caught off guard by one incredible "jump scare" scene. I watched the 1st season and of course, I want to follow the puzzle till the end. However, I find myself struggling with the acting.

The formula for these shows is usually, it looks like something crazy is going on and the show reveals it to you, eventually without even needing to think too hard. the days of 'lost' are over... You sit there and everything unravels to an 'ok' finish.
Unfortunately FROM doesn't even manage that, nothing from the story, the acting stands out, it just meanders hopelessly, and you end up annoyed.
You are quite literally made to watch 4,5 episodes where nothing happens, nothing that makes you excited to watch it again.
The acting overall is just too mellow, everyone is subdued, in this horror scape, unless it's their turn to become this episodes protagonist. There's people screaming outside, everyone is just sat in silence inside. There's guts and blood up the walls, it's ok, let's just be calm. Get my drift?
All they had to do is just give you a little shock and awe every now and then. Convince you.
