Description: SOAPnet goes after hours with our favorite General Hospital characters and some new faces on the network's first one-hour original primetime drama. This also is the first time a soap opera has shown more than what we get to see in daytime. The show's storylines are funnier and edgier than General Hospitals, and occur during the night shift at the hospital. However, the two shows storylines do not intersect, on Night Shift they wrap up by the end of each episode. Season one of the show was executively produced by Jill Farren Phelps and the head writter was Robert Guza Jr. Production began on Friday, April 20th, 2007 and 13 episodes were picked up, the first aired on Thursday, July 12th, 2007. Season two of the show is executively produced by Lisa De Cazotte and the head writer is Sri Rao. Production began Monday, June 23rd, 2008 and 13 more episodes have been picked up, the first will air Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008.
