I'm sorry but I need Gigi to be my **** would be **** another note, I'm very familiar with this actor's work but HAD NO IDEA this was him until I googled who the man behind the mask **** bad it's taken off the air.....I would continue to watch
This show is absolutely hilarious! David Krumholtz does a superb job of pulling you in to Gigi's story and without realizing it, you've completely forgotten that Gigi is a 37 year old man under a lot of latex and makeup. The humor is quick and smart and anyone who has ever experienced a true Jewish grandmother will know that Gigi IS a Jewish grandmother!! "You're eating saag paneer, what is saag paneer? It sounds horrible, don't eat that." LOL!
If IFC were to give David Krumholtz a talk show or his own variety series, the Gigi character might work for five minutes per week interacting with unsuspecting citizens. But stretched to 22 minutes per week, even those candid-camera moments don't generate sufficiently passionate reactions. Krumholtz and Mabe both are giving their all, but there isn't much of a series here beyond the concept.
Mostly, the whole horny, inappropriate Granny bit--which, in Gigi’s travels around Boca Raton, includes admiring a nude male model and making clear that part of him, anyway, doesn’t look Jewish--is just so played out.
This is the second new "sitcom" to debut on IFC on Thursdays. It was mildly more interesting, but I'm not sure if it's completely staged or some kind of attempt at a "Borat" formula. Either way, it wasn't that interesting.
