The writers were obviously angling for a mysterious sensibility with the supernatural aspect of the show being talked about rather than seen (ala Game of Thrones, or The Leftovers), but delivered on the backs of a weak story and weaker characters, the supernatural expounding only adds to the sluggish pacing.

Ugh this show **** so bad. It has never actually been a good show but interesting things occasionally happen and there are some good acting performances. The writing is almost entirely to blame. None of the seasons have made any sense but at least the first season had some semblance of plot. Second season has some interesting twists I guess but they come out of nowhere. This third season though? May be one of the most confusing piece of crap I have ever watched. I have never liked this series yet I have an obsession to finish a series I start watching. After watching maybe two episodes of the first season I disliked it but I had to continue because I had started.
The only scenes in the entirety of the series as in throughout all 3 seasons worth anything are the ones at Godfrey labs. This isn't because these scenes are actually any good just because they are at least watchable when compared to the rest of the random crap in this series.
If you feel my opinion is biased and can't trust my review trust this. Season 3 premiered on Netflix in October. In that time ONE professional review has been posted online. ONE single solitary review. This means that critics who actually love to bash terrible tv shows and movies won't even give this the time of day. It is THAT bad. I had to see it through to the end because I have a problem but if you don't have that obsession to finish watching a series you start even if it ends up being terrible save your brain cells.
There are some good actors here they are just given terrible often incomprehensible dialog. I really don't know what Eli Roth was doing here. I tried to figure it out so many times and I just can't. The only way I can recommend this series to anyone is if you like to watch terrible movies and tv shows and make fun of them mystery science theater 3000 style. Otherwise you are just wasting time you will never get back as I did >
