Bigger than life plays smaller than life on the smaller tube ... But the production values are high and there's a solid attempt at infusing the script with humor. The series might grow on us. We have an eternity. [2 Oct 1992]

Majority of dialogue in the flat story is trite. ... Performances are earnest — one too much so — but not enough to convince viewers there’s more here than meets the droopy eyelid.
