“In from the Cold” is a series that plays a relatively plain game, relying on flat characterization, fairly broad performances, and dialogue that either never lets go of your hand or winks right at you. But the action is sincerely, seductively good, and it helps counter the more greedy, thankless cheese.
On From The Cold is one of the worst Netflix original series we’ve seen in some time. ... We would be OK with the clunky dialogue and wooden acting in In From The Cold if the show wasn’t so ridiculous. But it’s absolutely ridiculous, and not in a good way.
Fast paced thriller with interesting characters and good acting. I found myself hooked fairly quickly and given its briskly paced eight episodes, it never gets bogged down. It’s fast and fun and often gruesome in its violence, like the R-rated The Americans. It has its imperfections, but I certainly enjoyed this series and hope for a 2nd season.
Good cast of people, Russians cast as Russians mean that their accents are natural and not what "americans think russian sounds like", awful CIA-subplot garbage, cheesy spy gimmick stuff, some great past scenes in the 1980's and potential to be way better in the future with season two (IF any of the Russian cast can even work on this production ever again)
Honestly one of the worst Netflix series I’ve ever seen. This is one of those times when the writers and director thought they were masterful artists, but really just showed how incompetent they were. If I were to find out the entire production was done by interns I wouldn’t be surprised and would opt to let them all go.
I’ll leave one little scene here. A bird hits a window and seemingly dies. The daughter cuts the damn bird open and makes earrings out of the bird. This is supposed to be a “beautiful artistic scene” but holy hell did it have everyone in my living room shaking their heads at each other in horror.
